Australia Brisbane Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Entry Tickets Overview

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Fig Tree Pocket sits on 18 hectares of riverside land beside the Brisbane River, 12 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Founded in 1927 with just two koalas, it is the oldest and largest koala sanctuary in the world and has grown to house over 100 koalas along with more than 70 species of native Australian animals. The sanctuary operates as a social enterprise.

The koala collection is the most significant element of the sanctuary, with enclosures housing koalas at different life stages. The optional koala holding experience allows visitors to have a koala placed on their arm for a photograph with a keeper present. Holding experiences must be booked separately. The sanctuary also has one of the most impressive platypus viewing areas of any wildlife park in Australia, using a custom tank system to replicate the animal's natural habitat.

Other notable species include kangaroos and wallabies in a free-range walk-through area, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, wombats, freshwater crocodiles, reptiles and a large variety of native birds. The daily schedule includes a Free Flight Raptor Show, a Wild Lorikeet Feeding session, a Sheep Dog Show and keeper talks on koalas and dingoes. All shows are included in admission. Free on-site parking is available.
