A Fitting airport for the area I have been through Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran) a few times over the years, and it always feels like a perfect match for Las Vegas. Right when you step off the plane into the terminal, slot machines line the center aisles, so the gambling starts the second you arrive. It's a good marketing ploy and an on-brand welcome that sets the tone immediately. Baggage claim is straightforward with one large open area where all the carousels sit close together, making it easy to spot your bags without much walking. Rental cars are not right at the terminal. You take a free shuttle bus to the separate Rental Car Center, which is time consuming and a hassle (the transit part). But once you get there, the center is very nice and most agencies are very efficient. Be safe and plan a little time for that. When departing with a rental, you return the car at the same off-airport facility, then hop on a shuttle back to your airline check-in counters. Check-in is convenient for most airlines with plenty of kiosks, bag drop options, and staff available to help. Security lines move reasonably well, then you head up a long escalator (or elevators) to reach the gates. The airport stays pretty clean overall, with good signage, lots of seating, and the usual shops, restaurants, and bars you expect in a major hub. It's similar to many other big airports in layout and flow, but those ever-present slot machines give it a unique Vegas flair that makes the experience memorable. No major delays or issues during our visit, and it handled crowds without feeling too chaotic. Overall, I would recommend this as a fitting airport for the Las Vegas area due to its convenience for travelers, quick processes, and that signature gambling touch (machines in the airport) right from the start. Enjoy!

From the moment you arrive, the Vegas energy is instantly felt, slot machines, vibrant artwork, and nonstop buzz make it clear you’re in Sin City. The terminals are clean and modern, and despite being busy, the airport is easy to navigate with clear signage, efficient security, and plenty of seating. Baggage claim is quick, and rental car access is seamless. There are two terminals: one handles most domestic flights, while the newer, sleeker terminal serves international and premium carriers and offers better lounge options. Charging outlets are abundant, and dining and shopping options are plentiful, though some spots can get crowded and pricey. A wide variety of food and coffee options throughout the terminals makes grabbing a quick bite convenient, even if lines can be longer during peak hours. Overall, this airport combines efficiency with a truly Vegas vibe, making arrivals and departures smooth, exciting, and memorable.

This airport is easy to get around. The security was fast. There’s several restaurants within the terminals. Bathrooms were clean. If you want to see a view of the strip when landing at Harry Reid, sit on the right side. I was on an F seat and got a great view!

Flew in on Delta for a conference and had a smooth overall experience. The airport was clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Directions throughout the terminal were clear, and getting in and out was efficient. The tram service was convenient and well-maintained. With TSA PreCheck, it took about ten minutes to get through the security gate. The airport also offered plenty of restaurants and other amenities, making the wait times comfortable. Overall, a very pleasant and streamlined travel experience.

McCarran—now officially Harry Reid International Airport—honestly deserves a lot of credit for how clean and well organized it is, especially for a major hub in a city as busy as Las Vegas. From the moment you step inside, everything feels thoughtfully laid out and easy to navigate. The floors, seating areas, and restrooms are consistently spotless, even during peak travel times, which says a lot given the constant flow of travelers. Trash is cleared quickly, surfaces look well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere feels fresh rather than chaotic. For an airport that never really sleeps, that level of cleanliness is impressive. What really stands out is how efficient and intuitive the layout is. Signage is clear and plentiful, so you’re never left guessing where to go next. Security lines move smoothly, gates are easy to find, and the terminal doesn’t feel cluttered or overwhelming. Everything feels purposeful and streamlined, which helps take a lot of the stress out of traveling. Staff members also seem organized and attentive, adding to the sense that the airport runs like a well-oiled machine. And the train ride deserves a special mention—it’s quick, efficient, and a huge time-saver. The trains run frequently, are clean and comfortable, and get you between terminals in just a few minutes without any hassle. There’s no confusion, no long waits, and no unnecessary walking, which is a blessing when you’re carrying luggage or trying to make a connection. Overall, Las Vegas Airport sets a high standard for cleanliness, organization, and efficiency, making it one of the more pleasant large airports to travel through.
