Palau de la Musica Catalana Guided Tour Tickets

Guided tours depart daily from 9 am and run until 3:30 pm with tours departing throughout the morning. Each tour lasts approximately 50 minutes. Evening access is available by attending concerts which begin from 7 pm most nights.

The tour covers the main concert hall with its stained glass dome ceiling, the sculptural stage wall with the eighteen ceramic muses, the ornate foyer, the Lluis Millet Room, the main staircase and the polychrome ceramic exterior facade.

The central skylight is an inverted dome of amber, blue and gold stained glass that descends from the ceiling into the hall. Natural light passes through it and changes quality and colour throughout the day. On sunny mornings it fills the hall with a warm golden glow.

Yes. Tours sell out consistently especially on weekends and during the autumn peak season from September through November. Advance booking through the official palaumusica.cat website is strongly recommended.

Yes. The Palau hosts over 300 concerts each year from its resident Orfeo Catala choir and a broad programme of visiting ensembles. Attending a performance gives full access to the auditorium in its operational state, which is a different and complete experience from the daytime tour.

Catalan Modernisme was a cultural movement at the turn of the 20th century centred in Barcelona that blended Art Nouveau with Catalan national identity. The Palau de la Musica, the Sagrada Familia and the Hospital de Sant Pau are its most celebrated buildings. Lluis Domenech i Montaner designed both the Palau and the Hospital de Sant Pau.

The Palau is at Carrer del Palau de la Musica 4-6 in the Sant Pere neighbourhood. Take Metro Line 1 or Line 4 to Urquinaona station, approximately five minutes walk. The building is signposted from Via Laietana.

Yes. Photography without flash or tripod is permitted throughout the guided tour. Flash photography is not permitted in any part of the building.
