The nearest Underground stations are High Street Kensington on the Circle and District lines, approximately a 10-minute walk through the gardens, and Queensway on the Central line, also approximately 10 minutes on foot. The palace is also a pleasant walk from Hyde Park Corner and Notting Hill Gate stations.

2026 is a particularly rich year to visit Kensington Palace. A new exhibition explores the extraordinary life of Sophia Duleep Singh, Punjabi princess and suffragette icon who lived at the palace. Note that the Queen's State Apartments close from 15 June 2026 for major re-presentation work so visiting before this date is recommended if you wish to see the full range of palace rooms.

The Sunken Garden is a beautifully designed formal garden adjacent to Kensington Palace, enclosed by pleached lime trees and filled with ornamental flower beds and a central reflective pool. It is one of the most photographed spots in all of London following the installation in 2021 of a bronze statue of Diana, Princess of Wales, created by sculptors Ian Rank-Broadley and Ted Resch. The statue of Diana, Princess of Wales was unveiled in the Sunken Garden on 1 July 2021, which would have been her 60th birthday, commissioned by her sons Prince William and Prince Harry. Created by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, the bronze statue depicts Diana surrounded by three children representing those she helped throughout her charitable work. It is located in the Sunken Garden she loved and is included in standard palace admission.
