360 CHICAGO occupies the 94th floor of 875 North Michigan Avenue, the tower completed in 1969 and known for most of its history as the John Hancock Center. At 1,000 feet above street level it provides a perspective on Chicago distinctly different from that offered by Skydeck Chicago at Willis Tower: where Skydeck is immersed in the downtown Loop skyline, 360 CHICAGO sits on the Magnificent Mile on Chicago's Near North Side, providing direct views north along Lake Shore Drive, across Lincoln Park and the lakefront neighborhoods, and into the city's northern suburbs, as well as the more familiar perspective south over the Loop and Grant Park.
The experience begins at ground level with an interactive exhibit on the concourse level covering the history of Chicago and the diverse cultures and neighborhoods that define the city. One of North America's fastest elevators, traveling at 20.5 miles per hour, carries guests to the 94th floor in approximately 40 seconds. The full-circle observation deck offers 360-degree views that extend up to 50 miles on clear days across Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
TILT is the defining experience that sets 360 CHICAGO apart. A glass-fronted compartment on the north side of the observation deck carries guests out over Michigan Avenue and tilts them 30 degrees toward the street below, creating a perspective that is genuinely unparalleled anywhere in North America. TILT is not included in standard general admission and must be purchased as a separately ticketed upgrade, available on site.
