Best of Eastern Australia: Sydney and Gold Coast Highlights
Best of Eastern Australia: Sydney and Gold Coast Overview
Sydney stands as Australia's most celebrated city, a place where a gleaming harbour, sandstone colonial lanes, and one of the world's most recognisable skylines converge. The journey opens here, giving travellers time to absorb the Opera House from the water, walk Bondi's famous shore, and explore the historic Rocks district where the city was born.
From Sydney, the Blue Mountains reveal a different Australia entirely. Ancient valleys, sheer sandstone cliffs, and the chalky eucalyptus haze that gave the mountains their name stretch across a vast wilderness. A cruise back on the Parramatta River ties the land and water together as the day winds down in golden light.
A short domestic flight carries the group south to Gold Coast, where the pace shifts entirely. Broadwater's channels invite jet boat adventures, Sea World opens a window into marine life and spectacle, and Warner Bros. Movie World delivers a day of rides and characters from screen to reality.
The journey ends at Gold Coast Airport after six nights of carefully balanced experiences, returning travellers with memories of harbour sunsets, mountain silences, and theme park thrills in equal measure.
Best of Eastern Australia: Sydney and Gold Coast Itinerary
A cab picks you up from Sydney Airport after immigration, transfers you to the hotel, and the rest of the day is yours to settle in, rest, or explore the streets nearby at your own pace.
A full day of Sydney's landmarks takes in the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Mrs Macquarie's Chair, Royal Botanic Gardens, Darling Harbour, and Bondi Beach. The evening belongs to a three-hour showboat dinner cruise on the harbour with live performances and a three-course meal.
The day begins early with a coach ride west across the Harbour Bridge into the Blue Mountains. Jamison Valley, Echo Point, the Three Sisters, and Katoomba Falls follow in sequence. Featherdale Wildlife Park brings koalas and kangaroos up close before a scenic Parramatta River cruise returns the group to Sydney.
After breakfast and hotel check-out, a transfer to Sydney Airport connects to the domestic flight south. A cab at Gold Coast Airport delivers travellers to the hotel in time to check in, rest, and prepare for the adventures waiting in the following two days.
The morning opens with 55 minutes of Broadwater jet boating including 360-degree spins, power slides, and beach-buzzing runs through the marine park channels. Sea World fills the afternoon with rides, seal and polar bear shows, reef snorkelling, and the Storm Coaster roller coaster.
A full day inside Warner Bros. Movie World covers DC Comics zones, the Kids' WB Fun Zone, and Wild West and Main Street areas. The All-Star Parade runs through the park with characters including Batman, Wonder Woman, and Scooby-Doo making appearances alongside their signature vehicles.
Breakfast and hotel check-out complete the journey. A transfer to Gold Coast Airport closes seven days of harbours, mountains, waterways, and theme parks.
